Emergency service monitoring system

Synopsis:

This project aims to create an application to provide the needs for quickest emergency service to the emergency location. This project makes use of GIS and GPS.

GIS (Geographical Information System) is a computer based information system that provides the spatial and non-spatial data that presents on the earth. It is usually represented as a map digitally. In this project GIS is used to find the location of the emergency spot and to show the vehicle's location on map.

GPS (Global Positioning System) is a U.S space-based satellite system provides reliable positioning, navigation and time services. In this project GPS is used to track the current position of the vehicle with its coordinates (latitude and longitude).

This application first finds the location as latitude and longitude of emergency spot using GIS. This application will receive the coordinates (latitude and longitude) of every vehicle at regular intervals using GPS device which is attached to all vehicle. It enables the application to know where the vehicle is now. Then it tracks the nearest vehicle to the emergency spot assigns job to that vehicle to visit the spot by communicating to GPS device.
